I've spend many years of my life resisting the notion that I'm a tight-arse. Have you noticed that there are no good words to describe thriftiness? Frugal. Prudent. Shrewd. They all invoke the image of a moth eaten cat lady, cutting out tokens for cat food which she shares with her mogs by candlelight.
But I've come to a decision. There's nothing wrong with watching your pennies. And that's not because everyone is now so dirt broke they don't have a choice Well, not only.
It's because I really believe that wherever you are in the world, there are little tips to be found, little diamonds and hot spots that will make your holiday worthwhile, without imploding your bank account.
So I will now unapologetically pass on my tips, stories, anecdotes and advice for you to do with what you will. I hope I'll be of some use, and that this will be a great forum for everyone.
